It’s Women’s History Month! Let’s Celebrate, Ladies!

The roots of National Women’s History Month go back to March 8, 1857, when women from New York City factories staged a protest over working conditions. International Women’s Day was first observed in 1909. Before the 1970’s, women’s history was an under-reported topic and little public education was concentrated on women’s history even though women had been making history well before tossing their bras into a bonfire! As recently as 1987, the National Women’s History Project petitioned Congress to expand the celebration to the entire month of March. Since then, the National Women’s History Month Resolution has been approved every year with bipartisan support in both the House and Senate. And the rest as we say is history… Women’s History, that is! The first Business Women’s Mega Mixer was held in San Diego in 2010 to honor and celebrate Women’s History Month and to recognize all Women in Business. With 20+ Women’s Organizations, exhibits by women-owned or female-focused businesses and 400+ women in attendance, the response was overwhelming and that first event was a smashing success. Now, in its 9th year, the event has become known as “historic” and “the largest women’s history month event in San Diego”…with its MEGA high energy and MEGA Awesome atmosphere it’s definitely one you do NOT want to miss. This year’s event will be held at the Bahia Resort on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM… Get ready to… Mega-Mix with HUNDREDS of business women! MEGA is ON!

The Business Women’s Mega Mixer (AKA just “MEGA!”) is back and better than ever! After last year’s successful “Female Firsts” theme with the Mega Models representing women who were first in their industry, we decided to kick it up a notch for an even better experience for you. First, we’re wrapping up Women’s History Month with a MEGA Celebration, so it’s now scheduled for Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. Then, we’ve selected a new theme for this year… “One Woman”… based on the fact that women wear so many hats whether daily, weekly or annually… One woman can do anything! And there are a lot of amazing happenings before and during the event around that theme… and finally, we’re moving BACK to our original venue! The Bahia Hotel and Resort has hosted us for many years. We tried a different venue last  year, but now we’re BACK at Bahia! Now in it’s 9th year, this year’s event will be the biggest and best celebration of Women’s History Month...
